Perhaps it is just this ignorance,
this absence of certainty, lack of clear view,
more than anything, brings us together,
draws us into and through each other
to the unknown inside us all,
that gray space from which
what we know of ourselves
emerges briefly, casts a transient
shadow across the earth
and learns to believe in itself just enough
to believe in some one else.

I long for eternity because there I shall meet my unwritten poems and my unpainted pictures. Khalil Gibran, Sand and Foam, 1926 (via rerylikes)

I am glad to hear that any words of mine, though spoken so long ago that I can hardly claim identity with their author, have reached you. It gives me pleasure, because I have therefore reason to suppose that I have uttered what concerns men, and that it is not in vain that man speaks to man. This is the value of literature. — Thoreau, Letter to a Spiritual Seeker (via fuckyeahthoreau)

I’m really glad I didn’t agree to go to Maine that week cause I’m going to this as of two seconds ago. See you there?

Going to see them tomorrow, along with The Maldives and Black Whales. Summer means free concerts at the mural. :]

Hey Marseilles. You all should listen to them…. NOW.

Hold my hand, Doctor. Try to see what I see. We’re so lucky we’re still alive to see this beautiful world. Look at the sky. It’s not dark and black, without character. The black is in fact deep blue. And over there, lighter blue. And blue and through the blueness and the blackness, the wind swirling through the air. And then shining, burning, bursting through through the stars. And you see how they throw their light. Everywhere we look, complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes.

We all have these moments. :D

I read the first one ‘cause I felt bad about trashing them without any basis but damn. Now I can’t walk into a bookstore without being bombarded with endless displays of vampire glory. None of which include classic authors.

I want to get a new tattoo. Or, rather a few more. I’ve been thinking about it for a while but can’t decide what I want down.

Hung around my friend’s shop today and watched him and his partners create masterpieces on for hours. This one woman lost her daughter in a car accident and wanted her face on her shoulder blade. A guy came in and completed his full body set of armor which looked beast, seriously the next woman he has… relations… with is in for a shock. :P AHH. I think my favorite was the completion of a scene from mythology inked on a guy’s back.

OH! And this elderly woman came in with her daughter and two granddaughters and they all got the same biblical verse tattooed on their ankles. Thought that was nice. My parents flipped when I started mine and are even angrier that it’s finished. “How are you going to get a job with that thing on your forearm Andrew? You can’t always wear long sleeves and part of it still shows!” Future’s changing, ideals are shifting, migrating, growing.

What once was a girl is now just a ghost
Is now just a ghost
And everyone knows it

Seen it before
And we watched her explode
Yeah a high and a low
But nobody shows it

Nothing hurts worse
Than a hope that’s deferred
Don’t let it slip away
See you shining under the shame

<Meh

What do you do when you get her back but just like that she’s gone again?
